Memorial Description:

Plaque, shield shaped, 13 inches high x 9 inches wide (354mm x 226mm), set on an oak pattress with the same shape.

At the top are the Words “Pro Patria” in Old English lettering. The rest is in Roman capitals.

Notes:

1. The club was started in 1934 by a group of local business and professional men who called a meeting at premises at 100 Dacre Street in the town, with the aim of forming a social club at Harton. Premises were secured in West Avenue at an annual rent of £40.
