The altar rails in this Church and
this plaque were dedicated to the
glory of God and in memory of those
who gave their lives for us during
the War 1939-1945.
They left all that was dear to them
endured hardship, faced danger and
finally passed out of the sight of men.
Let those who come after see to it
that their names are not forgotten.

Memorial Description:

Plaque with raised centre top.

At centre top is a crossed carved in half relief and gilded.

On either side are roundels painted in full colour depicting (left) Royal Navy and (right) the Army.

Similar roundels at the bottom depict (left) Royal Air Force, (centre) the English red cross and (right) Merchant Navy.

The dedication is at the top, the exhortation in the middle.

The names are listed in three columns.

All lettering is incised and gilded using Roman capitals.
