Grammar School, on west wall of one of the classrooms in the old part of the school, to the west of the main staircase on the ground floor.

Memorial Description:

Three grey marble plaques, very plain, in a row.

The centre one, 54 inches high x 27 inches wide, (137cm x 69cms) has a shallow pointed top.

It bears a bronze figure in half relief of a knight in full armour.

Underneath is the dedication carved in serif capitals and gilded.

The names are carried in a single column on the two outer panels, the letters incised and painted blue.

Notes:

1. This building was a private mansion on the outskirts of town. In 1914-18 it was the Secondary School. It became the Grammar School for Boys in October 1937 and is now a sixth form College.
