Memorial Description:

Plaque, 16 inches high x 26 inches wide (41cms x 66cms).

The names are listed in two columns.

The lettering is incised and gilded, using Roman capitals throughout.

Notes:

1. The plaque originally had an oak frame. This information came from a man whose father made the memorial and who watched his father putting it into the church.

2. The plaque was found after a caravan on a site at Rothbury was removed for breaking up. Some slabs were lying round and Mrs. Jane O’Neill found this one which had been used as a step for getting into the caravan.

3. The plaque was placed in 2003 at Holywell inside the railings surrounding the South African War Memorial.
