Erected by the residents
of Kelloe and District.

Plaque 9 feet 21 inches high x 4 feet one inch wide of classical design with traceried rounded top incorporating a boss with shield, and fluted pillars at each side.

The words “Roll of Honour” are in gilt with black shadow at the top.

Details of the erection are at the bottom in the same style.

The main panel bears the dedication and names, also in gilt.

The names are listed in two columns with a vertical line between.

The lettering is a mixture of Gothic and Roman capitals, also hand painted in gold.

“The general style and decorative features of the memorial are based upon the Renaissance period of art. The columns are fluted and surmounted with Ionic capitals. The centre panel is finished in a dark tone in contrast to the rest of the memorial, and is inscribed with the names of the local men who made the supreme sacrifice. The lettering is in English gold leaf. In the centre of the pediment is carved a cross, symbolic of sacrifice, and a laurel wreath, the emblem of victory.”

1. The memorial covered the Kelloe, Davy Lamp and Garmondsway districts.
