Memorial Description:

Plaque 33½ inches high x 22¾ inches wide (850mm x 578mm) set on an ornamental wood base with elaborate top.

This top contains a copper badge depicting St. George slaying the dragon with the dates “1914” and “1918” each in a small cartouche on each side.

The centre plaque has a rolled edge.

The names are listed in three columns.

Lettering is in raised sans serif capitals.

77 full names of scholars plus 1 member of staff who died.

Notes:

1. It seems that the Mayor was chairman of the school governors. It is not clear whether this was ex-officio.

2. H.B. Pettler actually survived the war and died in 1957.
