Memorial Description:

Plaque, 60 inches high x 66 inches wide (1.5m x 1.68m), standing on the floor, carved in classic style with moulded edge and marquetry decoration.

It is divided into three panels, the centre one having a rounded top, in which is a cross outlined in gold.

Below are the words “In hoc signo vinces” (“In this sign you shall conquer”).

Beneath this is the dedication, the letters carved to stand proud in sunken panels.

The panels to right and left are of darker wood and bear the names incised in a single column on each, the letters incised and blackened.

Notes:

1. There appears to have been a shrine possibly before the main memorial was built. If this is a correct identification of the photo, this has three panels, with a crucifix at centre, and names in a single column on each of the two side panels. Any help would be appreciated.
