Memorial Description:

Plaque.

There is an elaborate frame of black moulded wood, 32 inches high x  46 inches wide (81cms x 117cms).

In the hemispherical top is a St. Cuthbert’s cross inside a circle.

The dedication is in a rectangle, the elaborate lettering raised in half relief (?fretted) and painted in gold on a black background.

The main panel has a border of chevrons.

The names are in five columns divided by four vertical lines of chevrons.

The names are in black, on a painted cream background, with red initials, using Roman capitals.

There is a shelf below, with carved front, 48 inches wide x 9 inches deep x 5 inches high (122cms x 23cms x 13cms).

Notes:

1. A three-day bazaar was held to raise funds for the erection of a north aisle, to help with the completion of the church and also to extend the chancel in memory of the fallen.
