Unveiled May/June 1921 by Mr. R.G.E. Mortimer of Milburn Hall.
Dedicated by Rev. E. Arkless, Vicar of Earsdon.

Materials Used:

Italian marble on slate base.

Who Commissioned:

War Memorial Committee.

How Money was Raised:

Public subscription.

The Committee decided that no entertainments were to be used to raise funds, all would be by freewill offering.

Memorial Description:

Plaque, of classical design, with shallow gable at top, 54 inches base to apex and 37 inch wide (142cms x 94cms).

A wreath is carved in half relief at the top.

The lettering is incised in sans serif capitals and painted black.

Notes:

1. It looks as though the names at the bottom of Pte. W. Ormston and Pte. F. Kemp were added later, and that a further name – that of Pte. J. Atherton – was a second addition.
