Memorial Description:

Plaque 60 inches wide (152cms), of three panels, resting on corbels.

Two outer panels are 42 inches high (107 cms), the centre panel is 52 inches high (132 cms), of 14th century Gothic design, with traceried top and a canopy at centre.

There are pillars at each end.

The date is carved at centre top below the canopy.

The central panel has a cross at top and names of the fallen carved in two columns.

The two outer panels have names of those who served carved in three panels on each.

The lettering is in sans serif capitals.

There is a 9 inch deep (23 cms) shelf below.

Names:

56 full names of the fallen.
131 full names of those who served.

Notes:

1. Auckland and County Chronicle says that the cost was £120.

2. The parish included South View; St. Helen’s Terrace; Davy Lamp; East Hetton; Town Kelloe; Kelloe Winning and Kelloe Pit.
