Plaque.

The wide frame is square and has a wreath raised at centre top and halfway down each side.

The centre panel contains the dedication and the names listed in four columns.

1. This was the first school in Jarrow or Hebburn to create a memorial.

2. Hebburn as a whole provided 2282 men for the army and navy, deaths numbered 200, of whom 18% were past scholars of the colliery school. There are 82 war windows in Hebburn, 155 fatherless children, 18 orphaned children, and 935 disabled men.

3. The Shields Daily Gazette states that the memorial was unveiled by Mr. H. Flesher.
