Memorial Description:

Plaque, 56 inches high x 24 inches wide (142cms x 61cms).

It has an elaborate rounded top.

There is a border pattern of a twisted string, raised on a black background.

At the top is the symbol of the City of Newcastle Golf Club: a windmill surmounted by two crossed golf clubs.

The dedication is in Roman capitals.

The names are listed in two columns divided by a single vertical line, using sans serif capitals.

Notes:

1. The memorial was referred to as commemorating the “Gosforth Nomads” who fell in the war.

2. From the Club, 130 members joined the colours, of whom 23 died.
