Memorial Description:

Plaque, very plain, 39 inches high x  21 inches wide (99cms x 53cms).

There is a wide border which has been pecked.

In the border small shields have been carved in half relief.

At centre top is the Royal badge;  at centre left the arms of Durham and centre right St. Cuthbert’s cross.

The names are listed in two columns on the main panel, the lettering incised using Roman capitals for the dedication and quotation, and sans serif capitals for the names, all in italics.

The whole has been clear varnished.

Notes:

1. This plaque replaced a memorial for 1914-18, at the same time merging the parishes of Croxdale with Hett.
