in this Church is dedicated to the glory of God in sacred memory of
the following who made the supreme sacrifice in the Great War.

Lower panel:
 A thank offering for the Gracious providence who preserved the following to return to their homes.

Memorial Description:

Church organ.

There is a plaque which is divided into three panels, each divided into a lower and upper half.

The top panels are devoted to the dedication of the organ to the memory of those who died.

The lower halves are dedicated to those who served, the names carried in a single column on each panel.

The lettering is in Roman lower case.

Names:

17 surnames and initials of those who died,
88 surnames and initials of those who served.

Notes:

1. The National Pipe Organ Register (NPOR) has on its records organ No E01115 –Trinity Methodist Church, 1 Horsemarket, Barnard Castle. This was a new organ by J J Binns of Leeds fitted with Binns Patent Pneumatic Action, installed c1921. An electric blower was fitted c1926. The organ was still there when it was surveyed in 2005.

2. The present church started life as the Wesleyan Church and when the Primitive (Newgate) and Wesleyan (Galgate) were combined it became the Trinity Methodist Church.
