1914 – 1919. This tablet is erected and
a brass eagle lectern placed in the
Church.

Lectern in the form of an eagle 68 inches (172cms) high.

There is a plaque 36 inches high x 24 inchest wide (914mm x 608mm) on the wall nearby.

This has a wide patterned border culminating in a roundel at each corner.

The names are listed in three columns divided by vertical lines.

Some of the dedication is in Gothic script, the rest is in sans serif capitals.

1. The Church has suffered some water damage, but the Memorials were unaffected.

2. St Luke’s Parish Church, Pallion, was built in 1872 and consecrated in 1875. The parish boundaries extend from the banks of the river and include the shipbuilders Short Brothers which was one of the first yards on the river to close when the demand for small ships fell.
