Memorial Description:

Cross, decorated, approx. 13 feet high (4m) on base 41 inches x 41 inches (104cms x 104cms).

There is a wreath raised in half relief between the arms of the cross.

Below is a rough pedestal on which is a shield with raised edges which bears the dedication.

At the front of the bottom pedestal is a sword raised in half relief.

The names are in a single column on the front and two sides.

The names from 1939-45 are in a single column on the back.

Lettering is incised using sans serif capitals throughout.

1. Old photos show that the names for 1939-45 were added below the inscription “Salute the glorious dead” which was part of the 1914-18 dedication.
