Memorial Description:

Candle holder 60 inches high (1.52M), rounded and standing on a square base 5 inches high x 12 inches square (126mm x 303mm)

The whole is painted green with gilded decoration.

Lettering is incised into three sides of the base using Roman capitals.

Notes:

1. This is one of a pair of larger candlesticks. The other is dedicated to George Atkinson / reader in the parish 1907-37 / died 1945. There are two other smaller ones to complete the set.

4. St Jude’s Parish Hall which is next to the Church was used as a Canteen for shipyard workers after being requisitioned by the War Office in WW2. A kitchen was built into the hall to cater for this, and there are also blackout curtain rails in situ.
