Book of Remembrance 254mm Quarto size (10 inches) high x (204mm) 8 inches wide bound in black leather. Pages are handwritten. Some of the entries refer to gifts given to the church in memory of people who died, others are of those who were killed in war.

St.Jude’s Church / South Shields / Book of Remembrance. This book commemorates before God / Faithful souls departed / in whose memory / this church has been beautified by gifts / of Love. Life eternal grant to them O Lord / and let Light Perpetual shine upon them.

   In memory of John White Armstrong died 21/10/1910
    (Killed in action). Florence Bates died 13/1/13
   Reynold Erickson died 11/8/1913.  Also in memory
   of others whose names are inscribed on the memorial
   tablets on the last wall of the south aisle.
