Unveiled 28th January 1921 by Rev. J.T. Brown, vicar of St.Peter’s, Monkwearmouth assisted by the Rector Rev. E.W. Balland.

Memorial Description

Roll of Honour, 4 feet 1 inch high x 5 feet 4 inches wide featuring a large classical-style frame with domed centre panel and pillars at each side and dividing the main panel into three section. In the domed section is a laurel wreath with two crossed swords superimposed. The dates of the two great wars are above and below the outer panels.
The centre panel contains a brass plaque 3 feet high x 2 feet 2 inches wide which bears the dedication. There is a border of twisted rope design culminating in floriated crosses in each corner. The name “Holy Trinity Church” forms an arc at the top. Beneath is a plain cross centrally placed, with the names of those killed listed in two columns divided by a vertical line. Lettering is in black sans serif with red capitals, the church name in Gothic script.
The two outer panels are of white material on which the names of those who served are written in black with red capitals.
