Memorial Description

Screen repair.
There is a small brass plaque 13 inches high x 22 inches wide (331mm x 559mm) with the city arms in colour at centre top. A small plain brass cross is fixed to the top. The names are listed in two column divided by a vertical line. Lettering is in Roman capitals for the dedication and Gothic lower case for the names.

Notes

1. The church is now used as a Museum and Heritage Centre and the plaque integrated into the exhibits.

2. The memorial was unveiled in candlelight because, during the prayers, the electric light suddenly fused. The church was plunged into darkness apart from the candles on the altar. The unveiling took place, during which the repair was undertaken, and lights came on again fifteen minutes after the fuses blew.
