Memorial Description

Two identical Rolls of Honour on paper set behind glass in wood frame 89cm high x 65cm. wide. There is an elaborate wide black border on which are oak leaves and acorns, interspersed with shields of white with red decoration.
The shields feature the “whole armour of God” : (top left) the breastplate of righteousness, (below left) sword of the spirit, (top right) the helmet of salvation, (bottom right) the shield of faith, and (centre bottom) “girt about with truth, and feet shod with the preparation of the Gospel of Peace” (all from Ephesians 6 v 13-17).
The title is carried on a scroll with shafts of light behind. The words “Roll of Honour” are in red. The names are handwritten in three columns, with a cross to the left of those who fell.
