Memorial Description

Book of Remembrance in glass topped case. The case is 2 feet 8 inches wide x 2 feet deep x 4 feet high raking down to 2 feet 8 inches.
The book is 15 inches high x 13 inches wide x 3 inches thick. The lettering on the leather bound front is embossed and gilded. There are 65 pages. The names are handwritten on vellum in black calligraphy, with red initials for the names, and each word underlined in red.

1. Lower panel on cenotaph (Ref: S.138.07) reads: The names of the fallen are inscribed in the book of remembrance laid up in the adjoining church.

2. A copy of the list of names was deposited in a sealed container at the base of the cenotaph.

3. The Book in its oak stand was placed by the cenotaph for the dedication before being installed in the church.
