1. Ald. Joseph Eltringham of Blackhill, was Chairman of the Consett District Education Committee. He acted on behalf of Mr. A.J. Dawson, Director of Education for Durham County, who could not attend because of the railway strike.
2. Mr Frank Allen was headmaster of the boy’s department for 13 years and was well known in local musical circles.
