Memorial Description

Roll of Honour, preprinted, 28½ x 18½ wide, highly illuminated, set in a frame 37 inches high x 27½ inches wide. At centre top is the Royal insignia on a Union flag. To left and right are wreaths containing badges and set against crossed flags. Down each side is a border containing daffodils for Wales, shamrocks for Ulster, thistles for Scotland and roses for England, with a seated lion at the bottom. At centre bottom is a cartouche containing the dedication. The names are in two columns. These and the dedication are handwritten.

Notes

1. Watergate Wesleyan Methodist Church closed in 1970. The memorial was moved to Consett Road Primitive Methodist Church at Castleside which closed in the 1990s. It is now in North of England Open Air Museum, Beamish.
