1. From the newspaper photograph, this is very similar in design to other school plaques. See Burradon B73.02 for example.

2. The newspaper report states that the memorial is dedicated to 12 former pupils who fought in the war, of whom ten were killed.

3. The children of Holystone Primary School researched the names as a project in 2014.
