Notes

1. The Church was made redundant in 1978. There were fires in 1979 and 1983. The building was restored in 1986 by the North East Civic Trust. It was converted for use as Phillips’ Auction House. Reopened as a Visitor Centre by Newcastle City Council in 2000. Now re-opened as Gateshead Heritage@ St.Mary’s.
