On the Loos Memorial is the name of 11401 Private James Nichol, serving with the Northumberland Fusiliers who died 26/09/1915.

Soldiers Died in the Great War states that he was born in Morpeth and enlisted in Togston.

He was the son of John and Mary Ann Nichol, of 7, Hedge Hope Terrace, Chevington Drift.
