In St. Bartholomew's Church, Newbiggin-by-the-Sea is a Roll of Honour page which states that Charles Ellis was born in Bermuda, West Indies. He moved to Newbiggin-by-the-Sea and married Susannah. He is said to have died at home, cause not known.
