On the Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France, is the name of 22/110 Private Edward Angus, serving with the 22nd (Tyneside Scottish) Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, who died 30/06/1916.

Morpeth Herald 25/08/1916 carries the following:

Mrs Angus, Station Terrace [sic], Cramlington, has received word that her husband, Pte. E. Angus, N.F., has been missing since July 1st.

Morpeth Herald 30/03/1917 carries a brief obituary:

Private Edward Angus, Station Road, Cramlington, missing since July 1st, is now officially reported killed.

He is remembered in Cramlington on C60.01 and C60.03
