Morpeth Herald 20/08/1915 carries a brief obituary:
The death is announced of Corporal J. Lock, 1st Northumberland Fusiliers, who was killed in action on June 16th [sic]. He is survived by a widow and three young children, who reside at 21 Monkseaton Terrace, Hirst.
He is remembered in Ashington on A17.27 and A17.43 and in the Battalion History page 19
