In Albert Communal Cemetery Extension is the Commonwealth War Grave of 23/617 Private W.R. Nesbitt, serving with the Northumberland Fusiliers who died 10/06/1916.

Margaret Allison states that in 1911 his address was 100 Poplar Street, Ashington and that he was aged 38 years when he died.

He is remembered in Ashington on A17.01 (A17.27), A17.22 and A17.43
