In Benwell (St.James) Churchyard is the Commonwealth War Grave of:

242456 Private
A. Pattison
Northumberland Fusiliers
7th June 1917 age 20

Till we meet again.

The Geordie at War Project states:

“The War Diary of the 5th Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers indicates that they were engaged in training at Monchy-au-Bois when Private Pattison died. This would seem to indicate he was wounded in an earlier action and died in hospital somewhere in England.”

Adam Pattison is remembered at Scotswood on S84.01 and S84.02
