Bartram, G., Pte., 1916
In La Laiterie Military Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 4226 Private George Bartram, serving with the Northumberland Fusiliers, who died 10/06/1916.

In the 1911 Census he is shown as the son of William (a chemical labourer) and Janet Bartram of 64 Rose Street, Hebburn. His father was born at Smethwick, London, and was 51 in 1911. His mother was born at Kelso, Roxburghshire, and was 41. They had been married for 24 years and had ten children.

George Bartram was born at Bill Quay, Co. Durham. His siblings in 1911 Robert (19; Chemical Labourer; Born in Hebburn), Martha (17; Born at Bill Quay), Alexander (10; Born at Bill Quay), Evelyn (8; Born in Hebburn) and Joseph John (6; Born in Hebburn).

In 1911 he was an Apprentice Shipwright in a Shipyard. He enlisted in Wallsend.

Two brothers were also killed: Charles and Robert
