In St. Barnabas Churchyard is a family headstone which reads:-
In
loving memory of
Sarah Ann
beloved wife of
William Jameson
of New Lambton
who died July 16th 1917
aged 63 years
Also of Septimus
son of the above
who was killed in action in France
Oct. 19th 1917 aged 28 years
The headstone has been correctly transcribed. It is possible that some attempt has been made to change 1917 to 1916.
Septimus Jameson is remembered at Burnmoor on B154.01
