Son of David and Sarah Todd, of Consett, County of Durham.
In St.John's Churchyard Birtley is a family headstone which reads:-
In loving memory
of
our dear mother
Mary Taylor
who died Dec. 14th 1909
aged 62 years
Also John Henry Taylor
beloved husband of the above
who died Jan. 31st 1877
aged 33 years
Also John Henry Todd
dearly beloved grandson of
the above killed in action
in Italy July 7th 1918
Aged 20 years and 11 months
His duty nobly done
