On the Helles Memorial is the name of KX/149 Able Seaman John Fleming, serving with the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve who died 04/06/1915.

Heslop’s Local Advertiser 21/07/1916 reports:
“Able Seaman John Fleming, Howe Battalion, Naval Division, aged 23 years. Previously reported missing since June 4th 1915, now reported killed. Son of William and Mary Fleming, of Windy Nook.”

He is remembered in Windy Nook on W95.01, W95.02 and W95.16
