In Rue-Petillon Military Cemetery, Fleurbaix is the Commonwealth War Grave of 9150 Private Vincent Chisholm, serving with the Border Regiment who died 06/02/1915.

Vincent Chisholm was born in Berwick on Tweed and later lived in Wrekenton. He married Mary Ellen Littlefair in Felling in 1912. She was the sister of Thomas Littlefairwho is also remembered on the memorial at St. Thomas’ Church. She was born in 1892. In 1911 she lived at Pasture Field, Long Bank, Eighton Banks.

He served as a Lance Corporal with 2nd Battalion, Kings Own Scottish Borderers, regimental number 9150, on a short service attestation. He had previously served with this regiment at least between the years 1905-1910. He was killed in action on the Western Front on 6th February 1915. Mary was living at Ivy View, Long Bank when he died and had to raise their two children born in 1912 and 1914 on a widow’s pension. His mother was living at Bill Quay at this time. Vincent is buried in plot: I. N. 30, Rue-Petillon Military Cemetery, Fleurbaix, Pas-de-Calais, France.

He is remembered in Eighton Banks on E50.01 and E50.02
