In Voormezeele Enclosures No 1 and No 2, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 73486 Fitter Charles Gibson serving with the "B" Battery, 88th Brigade, Royal Field Artillery who died 16/09/1917.

Son of Thomas and Mary Gibson, of Croxdale, Co. Durham.

In Stanley (St.Thomas) Churchyard is a headstone which reads:-

In loving memory
of
Pte. Edwin Gibson N.F.
son of Thomas & Margaret Gibson
Late of Croxdale
died from wounds received
in action in France Dec. 23rd 1916
aged 37 years

This cross was erected by his loving brother
Pte. Charles Gibson R.F.A. who was
also killed in action in France Sept. 16th 1917
aged 40 years
