In Longuenesse (St. Omer) Souvenir Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 42726 RiflemanRobert Lightle serving with the 1st/8th Battalion West Yorkshire Regiment (Prince of Wales's Own) who died 09/08/1917.

Son of William and Mary Lightle, of 15, Ramsay St., West Stanley, Co. Durham.

In Stanley New Cemetery is a family headstone for Lightle which reads:-

In loving memory of
William
beloved son of William and Mary Lightle
who died 12th Nov. 1917 aged 15 years
Also Pte. Robert Lightle their son who died from wounds
received in France 9th August 1917 aged 20 years
Also the above Mary Lightle
Who died 28th Nov. 1923 aged 58 years

Robert Lightle is remembered at Stanley in S135.04
