In the 1911 census Thomas (one of ten children) was living in Janet Street, Byker, with his parents Jim and Barbara. Jim Scott and two of his sons Job and Daniel were Fish Hawkers. Thomas at 13 was probably still at school. The census records that Thomas was born at Byker but Soldiers Died in the Great War states that he was born at Bishop Auckland, and enlisted at Stockton on Tees. Father Jim was from Dewsbury Yorkshire.
Thomas Scott is remembered at Byker on B95.09 and B95.10 and in NUT024
