Granite with polished marble panels.

Obelisk approx. 8 feet tall (2.4m) of rough-hewn granite standing on two steps of polished marble.

At front centre top is a gilded badge.

Panels of black marble bear the names in a single column on three sides.

Those from 1914-18 are on the front, those from 1939-45 are on the right, and on the left is a name from later wars.

Lettering is incised and gilded using Roman capitals.

The words “Lest We Forget” are on a brass panel in Roman capitals on the front face of the top step.

1. There are memorials in the church, but it was felt that an outdoor memorial was needed.

2. A new flower bed was also created which bears the combined services’ insignia. Approx. £900 worth of flowers were planted in time for the unveiling.
