This Memorial was Erected in Memory of the Members of this Church Congregation
& Sunday School Who Fell on Active Service & in Honour of Those who Served
in the Great War.

Memorial Description:

Plaque.

Plaque with pedimented top which bears the dates. Below this is a panel which bears the dedication.

There is a carved column on each side..

The centre of the frame is divided into three panels.

The central panel has at the top a painted laurel wreath containing the words “In Memoriam” followed the names in a single column of those who fell, with the quotation at the bottom in cursive script.

The two outer panels bear the names of those who served, also in a single column on each, the lettering of the names being in gilded Roman capitals.

Names:

14 surnames and initials of those fell;
48 surnames and initials of those who served;
3 full names of those who gave Special Service.

Notes:

1. The original location of the plaque was confirmed by a member of Thornaby Baptist Church (2025)
