A Tribute to our Gallant Comrades who made the supreme sacrifice
during the Great War.

Memorial Description:

Memorial of parchment set behind glass in an oak frame.

The frame is 35 inches high x 24 inches wide (89cms x 61cms).

At centre top of the frame is a laurel wreath enclosing the badge of the Discharged Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen Club (D.S.S. & A) Greatham

The dates 1914-1918 are carved into the bottom edge of the frame.

The size of the central ‘window’ is 21 inches high x 17 inches wide. inside a frame 3 inches wide (53cms x 43cms x 8cms).

The parchment bears the names in copperplate handwriting.

Notes:

1. This was originally located in the ‘Club Room’ of the Greatham Branch of the National Association of Discharged Soldiers and Sailors. It has not been able to determine exactly where this was.
