dedicated by Rev. W.H. Anning, Vicar of Christ Church and chaplain to the Royal Air Force.

The schoolchildren raised £13.

The plaque was donated anonymously.

Sculptor, Artist or Designer:

Mr. M. Forster, engraver of Nun Street, Newcastle.
A joiner, who wished to remain anonymous.

Inscription:

(Dedicated to former pupils who fell)

Memorial Description:

Roll of Honour, “handsome carved oak board, with the names of the fallen men inscribed in gold-leaf lettering.”

It has three panels.

Names:

32 names, ranks and regiments.

Notes:

1. 95 former pupils volunteered.

2. The joiner who donated the board presented it as a thank offering for his own safe return from service abroad.

3. According to the Newcastle Weekly Chronicle, the plaque was designed by the anonymous donor, but it was made by Mr. M. Forster, engraver of Nun Street, Newcastle.
