(Dedicated to Ralph Scott, engineer on the S.S. Shipcote, out of Newcastle “who was presumably drowned in the White Sea, the vessel having disappeared about December 1915 while on a voyage from Archangel to France”).

Memorial Description:

Stained glass window.

It depicts “Christ stilling the tempest” and bears the inscription “He wore the white flower of a blameless life”.

Notes:

On November 26th, 1915, the British cargo ship SHIPCOTE, left Archangel for Le Havre with a cargo of grain in bags, and went missing. She was not heard of ever since. The date adopted by the C.W.G.C. for all those on board the S.S. Shipcote (Newcastle) is November 13th 1915.
