Unveiled December 3rd 1916 by the Bishop of Durham.

Inscription:

This window is erected to the Glory of God
and in loving memory of
Lieut. John Hutchinson Tristram
1st Bn. Worcestershire Regiment
killed at the Battle of Neuve Chapelle France
on March 12th 1915 aged 22 years.

Memorial Description:

Stained glass window of a single light.

It shows the Angel of Life with a wreath of laurel leaves and a dead officer in khaki.

Above the angel is the regimental badge.

Below is the text “Be thou faithful unto death and I will give thee a crown of life”.

Underneath is a plaque 6 inches high x 21 inches wide (15cms x 53cms).

This has a single line border.

The lettering is in Roman capitals

2. The Sunderland Echo 04/12/1916 reports – The design and colour scheme of the window are very effective. There are portrayed the figures of the Angel Life bearing a wreath of laurel leaves and a dead officer in khaki. The face of the officer is the likeness of  Lieut. Tristram.
