Memorial Description:

Stained glass window of a single light depicting St. Andrew.

Above his head is the St. Andrew’s cross.

Below it is a plaque of slate in which the lettering has been incised and gilded using Roman capitals.

Notes:

1 “The window depicts St. Andrew who, with his left hand, draws a net full of fish from the sea. His right hand is raised to denote the martyrdom he suffered, symbolized by the Saltire cross which is at the head of the window. The saint stands upon his native heath, in which the blae-berry plant is introduced. The symbols of the burning bush and the open book are represented at either side of the figure. At the bottom corners of the window sea plants form a finish to a decorative border. sea parsnip is shown on the left and sea ragwood on the right”. Part of the description by L.C.
