Designed by Messrs. Hardman & Co., Birmingham; made by Messrs. Wall & Co., Cheltenham.

Of your charity pray for the repose of the souls of the
Soldiers and Sailors of this congregation who courageously sacrificed
their lives in defence of their homes and country in the Great War
1914-1918. In whose memory this pulpit has been erected

On whose souls sweet Jesus have mercy

Memorial Description:

Pulpit.

There is a plaque recording the erection of a pulpit.

It has a mitre shape at centre top in which is an elaborate cross.

There is a fleur de lys in the top two corners.

The dedication is in Old English script.

The names are listed in two columns in Roman capitals.

“It stands on pillars of red stone, the middle part being of Seton stone, capped with alabaster. It bears an inscription in Latin, the interpretation of which is: ‘The souls of the just are in the hands of the Lord, and the torment of death shall not touch them; they are in peace’”.
