DELAVAL MEMORIAL
Captain James Anderson. R.A.M.C., T.F., unveiled last night the war memorial to members of the Seaton Delaval Presbyterian Church who fell in the Great War.

The special service was conducted by a former minister of the Church, the Rev John Goudie, M.A., Northwood. London.

Mark Cockburn, R.N., Thomas Crosby. N.F., Thomas Watson (Galbraith), K.0.Y.L.I., Charles Robertson. N.Y., Ernest Morland Walker. R.N.R., and William Younger. R.A.M.C.

Buglers of the Tyne. mouth R.G.A. were in attendance. The cholr was under the direction of Mr John W. Stoker.

2. ” . . . an oak War Memorial tablet on the wall of the Presbyterian Church in Station Road, Seaton Delaval, this contained names of men connected with the Church who gave their lives in the 1914-18 War, my uncle’s name being one of them. The Church moved to new premises 20/25 years ago – the old church was taken over by the Ivanhoe Forge Ltd., and is now used for the manufacture of ironwork. I do not know whether the Memorial is still on the wall or whether it was moved somewhere else, but it was certainly there when the Church moved to its new premises.” (Letter from Miss S. Younger)
