Memorial Description:

High Altar, Reredos and Panelling.

The altar is of wood decorated with gilt carving, and consists of a centre panel with painted scenes depicting Christ in Glory, flanked by two panels depicting (left) St. John the Evangelist and (right) St. Peter the Apostle.

Between the paintings are depicted the instruments of Our Lord’s Passion.

There are five panels on either side of the altar, each 72 inches high and 10 inches wide (183cms x 25cms), containing the names of those who died.

These are spread over the ten panels, with those from 1939-1945 underneath those from 1914-18 in each case.

The dedication and names are carved and painted gold, using fancy upper and lower case lettering in each case.
